NEWSTART

God has provided everything we need in nature to live healthy lives. The trouble is most times we undermine the simplicity of the things of nature and their power to heal all our maladies. Wrapped up in eight scientifically proven principles called NEWSTART, nature and godly principles hold the key to holistic health and wellness.

NEWSTART is an acronym which stands for Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunshine, Temperance, Air, Rest and Trust in God. Successfully implemented, this lifestyle program cures a range of medical conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, lowers cholesterol, helps you lose weight, increases energy and improves overall quality of life. After going through one of the most traumatic events of my life, it was this program that reversed my high blood pressure and cured my anxiety and insomnia. My doctor told me once I develop high blood pressure I would always have it and be dependent on drugs to regularize it. I remember leaving his office, standing outside in the car park and rebuking his gloomy prognosis. I never believed him even during the time when I was dependent on drugs. I grew up hearing about NEWSTART but never implemented it until I was fed up taking drugs. And guess what.. it worked. After a few short months of consistent implementation of NEWSTART I gave up my pills for good. It can work for you too.


Nutrition



Proper nutrition is the foundation of good health and recovery from illness. This program is based on a plant-based diet and healthful whole foods as opposed to processed foods. Eat well balanced and nutritious plant-based meals daily. Opt for organic foods as they offer a multitude of benefits. Start your physical fitness journey today. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise at least three days of the week to reap the numerous benefits of a physically active lifestyle.

Water



According to Harvard Health, water flushes bacteria and other toxins from the body. It aids digestion, prevents constipation, cushions the joints and many other amazing benefits. Drinking an adequate amount of water throughout the day helps maintain proper hydration levels, promote detoxification, and keep our skin radiant and healthy. Aim to consume at least eight glasses of water daily, adjusting your intake based on factors such as activity level, climate, and individual hydration needs.

Sunshine



Regular exposure to the sun is the most natural way to get your Vitamin D which helps to regulate calcium and phosphate. These nutrients are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy. Sunshine also improves your sleep, reduces stress, fights depression. Ensure your body gets an adequate amount of sunshine. At least 15mins per day. Remember to protect your skin with sunscreen after this brief exposure period to prevent sunburn and reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Temperance



Temperance involves practicing moderation and self-control in all aspects of life, including diet, exercise, sleep, work, and leisure activities. By avoiding excess and indulging in moderation, we can maintain balance in our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Listen to your body's cues, eat mindfully, and prioritize rest and relaxation to prevent burnout and promote overall health and longevity.

Air



Nothing like fresh air to boost your mood and pick up your energy. Fresh air cleans your lungs, strengthens your immune system, improves blood pressure and heart rate, Indoor air pollution can negatively impact our health, leading to respiratory problems, allergies, and other health issues. Ensure proper ventilation in your home, workplace, and other indoor environments to improve air quality and reduce exposure to harmful pollutants. Spending time outdoors in nature allows us to breathe in fresh air, connect with the natural world, and rejuvenate our mind, body, and spirit. Clean, fresh air is essential for respiratory health and overall well-being. It sharpens your mind and makes you feel happier. Get an abundant supply of clean, fresh air daily.

Rest



The body rejuvenates itself while we sleep. Healing and growth takes place while resting. Rest strengthens the immune system and improves your mental health. The body needs approximately eight hours of quality, restorative sleep everyday. Prioritize sleep hygiene by establishing a regular sleep schedule, creating a relaxing bedtime routine, and optimizing your sleep environment for comfort and tranquility.

Trust in God



Nurturing our spiritual well-being is essential for finding meaning, purpose, and inner peace in life. Whether through an active prayer life, meditation, mindfulness, or connection with nature, cultivating a sense of faith and trust in a higher power can provide comfort, guidance, and strength during life's challenges.
